NOTE: Before Pelicad started its journey, our company (cityscaper) focused on communicating complex construction projects more clearly and emotionally appealing. Using Augmented Reality (AR), citizens, investors, and other stakeholders could experience future construction projects live on-site in a 1:1 dimension. Making CAD data available on the cloud paved the way for Pelicads' mission to ease the pain of visual creation in architecture, real estate development, and urban planning.

Preparations for the renewal of three playgrounds in the urban redevelopment area of Huckarde-Nord are in full swing at the City of Dortmund: The competition for the design of the playgrounds "Mailoh," "Varziner Straße," and "In der Mulde" was completed in 2020, and since then, the plans have been further specified. In addition to the renewal of the playgrounds, they should be better connected with each other, and the stay along this connecting axis should be made more attractive. Through the redesign of the playgrounds and their connection with each other, new design, social, and ecological impulses are to be set for the district, creating added value for the neighborhood.
A central element of this is the new seating areas, so that people have additional places to linger in the neighborhood. The Office of Urban Renewal would like to include the opinions of the residents of Huckarde in their planning. Join us!
To do this, download the "cityscaper" app from the App Store or Google Play Store. After installation, launch the cityscaper app and select the project tile titled "Where would you like to take a seat?" from the overview. After a short loading time, you will see the camera image. Now move to one of the points marked on the map. You can recognize these in the park by the cityscaper stickers. Now start the paper plane and follow it with the camera image. The mobile device will now recognize the surroundings. Once the localization process is complete, the corresponding areas for placing objects will be displayed to you. To do this, click on the plus symbol in the lower right corner. Now place them as desired in the designated areas.
Once your design is complete, you can save it. To do this, click on Save in the top area of the screen. You can exit AR mode via the settings menu in the upper right corner. The saved project will now appear in the app as a new tile for you. You can access it again and continue editing your design.
Important! Your progress will only be uploaded and saved if you press the Save button while using the app. Your changes will then be continuously saved if there is an internet connection.
You will find the map with the calibration locations on the information banners at the Glückauf Hansa allotment garden for the action. Here you can also scan the QR code for installing the app. Once you have calibrated yourself at one of the locations marked with cityscaper stickers, the app will show the areas where the new seating areas should be created. For each area, you can choose from various seating options in the app and place them in the marked areas. For example, there are benches for two people, single seats, or benches inviting people with walkers to take a break. In each area, a maximum of three seats can be placed, and for the larger pre-selected seating areas, seats for a maximum of six people can be placed.
With each selected seat, you will be given an approximate estimate of the costs that would arise from the selection and how this would affect the project's budget.
If you save your selection in the app, your suggestions will automatically be included in the overall evaluation. You do not need to provide any personal data for this; your ideas will be transmitted anonymously.
You were able to participate from Friday, December 17, 2021, until Sunday, January 23, 2022. The submitted ideas will then be collected and incorporated into further planning for the resting places in the neighborhood.
